We are a life-saving federation of services, supporting women and children at the most challenging times of their lives. The power of us together, as a network of services united to support survivors of domestic abuse, is formidable.
What our members say
- Decide whether your service is eligible for Full membership or Associate membership
- Complete the Expression of Interest form for your choice of membership
- Provide documentation to Women’s Aid’s membership team to review your application
- Attend an online due diligence meeting with Women’s Aid’s membership team
- Receive an outcome of your application via email
- The membership team at Women’s Aid will support your access to your membership benefits
Membership fees are paid annually (pro-rata if joining mid-way through the year) and based on how much income your service receives per year and the type of membership you chose.
To find out how much membership would cost for your service, please email membership@womensaid.org.uk with an indication of your service’s annual income in the last financial year and which type of membership is suitable for your service.
Women’s Aid offer two types of membership for services interested in joining the federation:
Full membership
Full membership is open to services who:
- Must provide support directly to women survivors of domestic abuse and violence against women and girls (VAWG) as their main part of service deliver
- Must be led by women for women, with a woman director or CEO, and women as chair and vice-chair of the board. At least 60% of the board must be women trustees
- Must share our federation’s aims and values
- Must be able to provide at least 12 months of audited accounts.

Associate Membership
Associate Membership is open to services who:
- Provide support directly to women survivors of domestic abuse and violence against women and girls (VAWG), but do not meet other criteria for full membership (see above).
- Provide support directly to women survivors of domestic abuse and violence against women and girls (VAWG), but this is not their main area of service delivery
- Are connected in some way with domestic abuse, who have an interest in the sector, or are domestic abuse adjacent services but do not offer direct, specialist services to survivors.
